Gilmore Girl Quotes To Live By

I think we can all agree that after a 10-year absence, we welcomed our favorite mother-daughter duo back with open arms (and refused to let go after Rory’s final words - which by the way if you still haven’t seen GET YOUR LIFE TOGETHER IT’S BEEN OVER TWO MONTHS). There’s something comforting about that opening melody that makes the audience feel right at home. I, myself, may or may not have started crying a little when that beautiful song reappeared in the revival last November. It’s like visiting Mother’s house and tasting her heavenly hot chocolate after not having tasted it for 10 years. Indescribable.

As I reflect on the original series and how everything - including on and off camera circumstances - affected the revival, I recall several quotes that inspired me to live the life I live today. These quotes have all either made me laugh, given me a secret insider with other GG fans, or have allowed me to take another look at my life in order to improve it. Amy Sherman-Palladino did a brilliant job in carefully crafting every word said to fit that character’s persona in order for the line to resonate with viewers. These are only a few, as I’m sure you wouldn’t want to read over 10,000 pages worth of quotes. (disclaimer for hardcore fans- images may not directly match to quote)

“Nothing say coffee like six in the morning.” -Lorelei

Got that right! *Walks around like zombie...

“People are particularly stupid today and I can’t talk to any more of them.” -Michel

If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

“People can live a hundred years without really living for a minute.” -Logan

When was the last time you tried something so daring, so anti-yourself that it opened up your eyes to what you were missing? Are you living life or just watching it happen?

“You jump I jump, Jack.” -Rory

To find someone you just met and have so much faith in them and are willing to put your life on the line - that’s love. Or completely idiotic.

“That makes me so mad. And sad. I’m smad.” -Sookie

And a little loopy.

“Okay, no wait I thought of some: jerk, ass, arrogant, inconsiderate, mindless, frat-boy, lowlife, butt-faced miscreant.” -Rory

You tell 'em. Just throw all of them in there. Like an insult omelet.

“You have to sleep; it’s what keeps you pretty.” -Lorelei

Nothing else matters if you’re not pretty.

“Mom, you’ve given me everything I need.” -Rory

At the end of the day, it is vital to always give extra thanks to those that have stuck with you through the good and bad times and never let you fail. They are the Lorelei to your Rory. Don’t let them go. “Gilmore Girl” isn’t as catchy of a title.

It is silly to claim that a silly television show has had such an impact on one’s life, however, I know I am not alone. It’s helped me understand the mindset of a completely dedicated mother whom gave everything up to make her own name in the world and give her daughter even more. It didn’t seem like that big a deal back when I was 10, but it means everything now. I can’t wait to be the Lorelei Gilmore to my future her daughter (and to her misunderstood best friend).

Christmas Tree
History.com

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
