Attention high school graduates: When people ask you what you would like for a graduation present, this is what you need to say.

1. Giftcards for places that aren't fast food

I know you might not think it, but you will get tired of cafeteria food and junk food. I did at least. Try dropping hints that you want giftcards to Panera or Blue Baker. Trust me, you'll be happy you did.

2. A water heater

Listen, if you need hot water for oatmeal, tea, ramen, or so you can use your fancy little french press coffee maker but don't have a stove then you need a water heater. I've used mine almost everyday and I love it.

3. A foldable laundry basket

Pay attention here kiddos. There's this handy little thing know as a foldable laundry basket and it will be your one true love. If you are living in a dorm you won't have much room, erasing the bulk of a laundry basket is one of the smartest things you could do.

4. A collection of office supplies

You kind of forget about this when your parents have all of the office supplies that but you're going to love it when someone gives you a stapler. Just saying.

5. Giftcards to grocery stores

Whenever I want a snack to stow away in my dorm I go to the grocery store and let me tell you that I would adore having an HEB or Walmart giftcard.

6. Laundry supplies

Hear me out on this one. Someone gave me a thing of laundry detergent and it has lasted me the entire semester. I was also given this little lingerie wash bag and let me tell you it's a lifesaver. So if someone gives you laundry supplies just know you're going to be thanking your lucky stars later.

7. A backrest pillow

This might be my absolute favorite thing. It's supper comfy and provides that much needed support when you want to do your homework (or watch Netflix) in bed.

8. Giftcards to Bed Bath & Beyond

Aka, the ultimate college freshman store. I'm not kidding when I say my dorm is probably 82% Bed Bath and Beyond and I'm not mad about it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
