Now that Mother's Day has passed and we picked out gifts for Mom, we kids need to start thinking of Father's Day gift ideas. I think one of the most common problems of Father's day for us is thinking of a gift our dad would like. These are some of the ideas that will hopefully give you an idea of your own (or you can take one of these, I don't care).

1. A miniature whiskey barrel

If your dad drinks alcohol, this is a really cute idea! There is a website where you can customize a barrel to say his name or his last name. He can fill it with his favorite alcohol and it has a little spout to pour it out!

2. A photo frame with a timeline

Dads may act tough, but a sentimental gift will make their heart big. One time, I got my dad a photo frame where it had four slots. The first slot was a picture of him and me when I was a baby, the second one was him and I when I was a toddler, the third was him and I when I was in high school, and the fourth had a note that said 'wedding day.' This is a nice sentimental gift that will definitely get to your dad's heart!

3. Tickets to a game

Many dads love sports, so try to get tickets with just the two of you to a game. The Rockies are playing a lot during June, and tickets are reasonably priced. This is going to be a fun bonding experience filled with laughter, baseball, and hot dogs!

4. Cook for your dad

Who doesn't love food?! A day of grilling hamburgers, cooking greens, making mashed potatoes, and serving drinks to him is simple, but fun! This way you can show your appreciation for him while making his stomach happy!

5. A coupon book

A coupon book is easy to make and can include things like mowing the lawn, pulling out weeds, and more. You can put anything you know your dad hates to do all the time. Simple and cheap!

These are just five ideas, but I hope that gets your mind going or that I gave you an idea you haven't already done!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
