Although, no, they do not have "too many books" because there's no such thing.

So you have a friend that's a reader and you're not quite sure what books they like to read, or they have so many that you don't think there's a book they don't own, but you need to get them a present. I'm here to help. Below is a list of bookish things for your bookish friend that are not books.

1. Magnetic Bookmarks

Perfect for the book nerd on the go because you don't have to worry about it falling out. These adorable Six of Crows ones are from Etsy (Don't know about Six of Crows? Read my review here).

2. Subscription Boxes

My favorite is OwlCrate but there are so many out there. I'm about to save your life right now: Check out CrateJoy. They are a market place for subscription boxes and not only do they have a ton of book related boxes, they also have boxes for food lovers, dog lovers, art lovers--literally everything. You're welcome.

3. Book Related Buttons

The best place for buttons is your local independent bookstore. You can also get really cool wooden ones on Pigseyart, or if you don't have a local bookstore you can find plenty on Etsy.

4. Book Darts

Perfect for the reader that loves to highlight and annotate their books but wants to mark them with something a little classier than sticky notes.

5. Book Ends

Just the thing a book nerd needs when they've run out of shelf space and need to make some sort of surface become a shelf for books. And no, they cannot just "get rid of some." What are you, cruel?

6. Book Related Stickers

Laptops, water bottles, notebooks, they all scream for stickers to be put on them. My personal favorite place to get stickers is Redbubble.

7. Book Related Pocket Posh

They have Jane Austen, they have Shakespeare, they have Sherlock Holmes, they have Charles Dickens, they have it all. These little puzzle books are perfect for road trips. The best part is, since you're all stuck in the car together, the whole family can participate.

8. Book Clip Light

These are especially nice if your reader is somewhere where they have to share a room with people who want to go to bed but they have just reached the climax of their book.

9. Bookish Socks

I feel like it's a universal fact that readers love cozy articles of clothing and sock are no exception. I recommend checking out SockDrawer and Out Of Print for all your foot related needs.

10. Book Perfume

That myth that book lovers smell their books? Yeah, it's not a myth. So, no, it's not weird to give a book lover perfume that smells like books. They'll love you. You're fueling their "paper passion."

11. Book Related Candles

Because sometimes that fact that your perfume is book scented isn't enough and you need your house to smell like them too. Frostbeard is a favorite of mine because they have everything from "Reading At The Cafe" to "Headmaster's Office."

12. Giftcards to Bookstores

Listen, you might think it's an impersonal gift but we don't. Paying for us to be able to buy that new release we've been eyeing? Thank you. We love you. Trust me, it will not go to waste.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
