Thanksgiving has, and always will be, my absolute favorite holiday. It's the one day every year that my huge family can all come together and really appreciate each other. It's also the one time of year I can really get away with singing the Thanksgiving song from Bob's Burgers (you won't regret looking it up). So from me to you, here's the process of Thanksgiving from a college student.

1.) When you're trying to be festive for Thanksgiving but everyone else is already talking about Christmas

I stick to a real strict No Christmas Until After Thanksgiving rule.

2.) When you're in your last class before break and all you can think about is leaving to see your dogs

Your professor might as well have just cancelled class because nobody is actually paying attention.

3.) When you finally get home and you're reunited with your pets

There is no greater feeling than being greeted by the ones who always love you no matter what <3

4.) When your relatives ask how your "studies" are going

Aha, yeah....

5.) When you see the food being set out

So close, yet so far....

6.) When your mom finally says it's time to eat

The moment you've all been waiting for has finally arrived and everything smells good and there's so much to eat and you can't contain yourself.

7.) When you're still at the kid's table but you love it

Don't lie, you know the kid's end is way better.

8.) When you're prepared for the feast

Who even wears real pants to Thanksgiving?

9.) When your family knows they don't have it all together, but together they know they have it all

We put the "fun" in "dysfunctional" ;)

10.) After you've all polished off five servings and go to lay down on the couch

Food coma!

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
