When you sit down to eat your mom's cooking after three months of cafeteria food.Â
We've all been there... sitting in the dining hall, wishing you were at your dining room table, eating your mom's signature dish. It's been three months that you've suffered through the mystery dishes your school has served... you are ready for some home-style cookin'!
When you finally get to sleep in your own bed.
A dorm bed can only be so comfortable... no matter how many foam mattress toppers there are on top. The first time you lie in your bed, you know you're finally home.
When you see your friends for the first time.
When it comes to seeing friends, there's no meme that will ever be able to fully describe the excitement you feel. Just being apart for hours or even a day in high school was long enough, but now it's been months and you can't wait to share all the college gossip and drama with them.
When you try on those jeans you left at home and realize that the freshman 15 is actually a thing.
"I'm gonna go to the gym four times a week, eat healthily, and beat the odds of the freshman 15 weight gain!" Yeah... that's a joke! During break, you realize that you are not the same person you were when you left for college three months ago. You see pictures from summer and realize that your reflection in the mirror is looking a little pudgier then that picture.
When people at home start asking what your major is, if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend, how your grades are, etc...?Â
Let's admit it... we like to think we have it all together at school, but we really don't. We're struggling just to keep ourselves alive while having to maintain good grades, a healthy lifestyle, friendships, and let's not forget... preparing for the real world. So to everyone back home, "I'm as clueless as you are!"
