Getting up early is a real-world problem to so many students who have registered for an 8 a.m. class. I don't know why but those five minutes of sleep after the alarm goes out is the best! Just some thoughts I have every morning:

1. Oh no! Is it 7 already? It was 12 just like an hour ago!

2. Five more minutes.

3. Maybe I can reach the class 15 minutes late.

4. No, I must be punctual and attentive this semester.

5. Eh, one missed class doesn't make a difference.

6. But what if the professor gives an unannounced quiz?

7. *calculates* I think I can make a B even if I miss it.

8. Oh god! Why am I wasting my time to think? Deep sleep, come to me FASTTTTTT!

9. I'll just lay on the bed and close my eyes.

10. Oh it feels so good to be here!

11. Why on earth did I register for this class?

12. Should I just drop this class?

13. Or I will just mail him that I am sick.

14. Now, should I say a headache or stomachache?

15. A headache sounds more believable. Better take an appointment at the health center.

16. What if I really become sick?

17. That would be so cool. I could sleep all day long. And everyone would take care of me. Haha!

18. OR... I'll just use my second unexcused absence.

19. Wait, is it second or third?

20. How can everyone get up so fast?

21. That girl even gets the time to do her makeup!!

22. Maybe I should start wearing makeup.

23. Lol no. I would look like Miranda Sings!

24. Maybe I should watch that makeup tutorial video.

25. And I can start teaching others. What if my videos go viral!! Then I wouldn't need my degree...

26. But it would be nice to actually go to college and get a degree.

27. Wait, I am in college!

28. But is my degree really worth my sleep?

29. Naaah! Definitely not!! Why do I need a degree anyway!

30. I will just drive an Uber. Or UberEats maybe.

31. I'm hungry. What time is it?

32. Have I not been asleep this 10 minutes!!

33. Good lord, I am wasting my precious time. I think I should just wake up and go to the class.

34. Yes, I will learn at least one thing. Or two things... Three things. Four things. Five things. Six things.

35. What the hell am I counting!! I should wake up now.

* Falls asleep*

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
