This article is a response to: "What You Wear Can Affect Your Mental Health."

Like the above article shows dressing up has a great impact on your mental health. It's not the all-in-all cure but it can make you feel more confident to seize the day ahead of you. Taking the time to getting ready in the morning can make you a more successful human being in the long run. It so much easier to roll out of bed and put on the same t-shirt and sweat pant combo you wear every day. Whether you are going to work, staying in, or running errands I want to show how taking the extra hour to get ready is worth losing sleep over.

It puts you on a routine.

Routines are important for our day to day lives even when we are just babies. They keep us motivated to stay on top of our daily duties. Your daily routine may already involve making your bed and preparing your coffee and breakfast, but it should also incorporate getting your physical self ready. When you take more time focusing on your physical appearance your day starts brighter.

Your productivity goes way up.

Even when I am just doing chores around the house, when I get myself ready, I accomplish so much more. If I stay in my pajamas and do not brush my hair, I don't feel like getting my hefty to do list done. Your attitude needs to match your willingness to do something and getting dressed up is a great way to do that.

It builds your self-worth.

It is most important for you to be happy with what you look like. If you feel better dressing down than do it. If you feel better when you put more effort into your look, spend more time doing it. I am definitely a person that feels happier with myself when I have on a more thought-out outfit.

You are physically more confident.

When you go out in public you stand out when you are proud of how you look. You not as afraid to talk to people or be seen for long periods of time. This can help you meet new people and build the confidence you might really need.

It makes your day more enjoyable from the beginning.

Dressing up or getting ready for the day can boost your happiness from the very beginning. There is no better way to have a great day than starting off that way!

Dress for every Sucess!

No matter if you have to look presentable or not, dress for even the smallest success. You might find that you achieve things more often and more willingly. And remember, do it for you!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.

1. People assume you are mad all of the time.

2. Ten out of ten times you will give off an intimidating impression to others.

3. People do not acknowledge your feelings because you "do not have any."

4. Constantly being exhausted from trying to smile and not look like a witch.

5. And on the rare occasion your facial expressions show how happy you are, your friends think you are going crazy.

6. Each of your friends has said "I thought you were so mean when I first met you" at some point.

7. Then they follow that by saying "you are just hard to read."

8. So naturally if people do not know you they just assume you are a snob.

9. And when you are actually mad, your facial expressions are horrifying.

10. In the end you always look like you are judging people, when in reality people are ALWAYS judging you.
