At one point, getting ready for a party or occasion was fun. I got to try different styles and create something new. But now, the hours are longer, more parties for formalities and the endless rush of getting ready fast has worn me out. I absolutely despise choosing an outfit. Now I always end up asking my mother or friend to chose for me. At times, I could not be bothered and just wore anything. However, for those formal outings or an important meeting, I had to try. "Dress to impress", "You can never be overdressed", "Always look proper when you walk out of the house", these are some of the values my parents instilled in me. But, it is getting really hard to uphold. Here are some stages I go through while trying to get ready! I wonder if you go through the same:
1. Think about it the night before or all day long. Regretting the fact you have to chose another outfit for the next day.
2. Finally, think of an outfit that might work (all in your head)
3. Stand in front of your closet/cupboard for a while after the outfit you envisioned does not work!
4. When that outfit you thought about, doesn't work anymore.
5. You take out a few tops, dresses and pants.
6. Try them on, analyze it for hours while listening to some upbeat music.
7. Finally, when you are satisfied and ask for someone else's opinion. They criticize and say that some elements don't work.
8. You are now back to square one. Have a small break down and take a tiny break which turns out to be really long. Now, you are really in a hurry.
9. Finally, you put on the first outfit you tried. Splash on some perfume.
10. Take a final look at yourself, and walk out that door, hoping everything works out fine. While thinking in your head, "I need to buy new clothes."
I realized that this happens quite often, even in everyday life!
