While getting paid is a wonderfully glorious experience, the time in between can be excruciatingly penny-crunching. Thankfully, everyone's favorite childhood show has characters that also know the struggle. Here are the 10 stages of getting paid, as told by the cast of Spongebob:
1. Congrats! You just got paid
The feeling of getting paid for the week is one that cannot be beat! A victory screech is definitely in store.
2. Time to make a few practical purchases
Because fast food and Starbucks is a necessary expense. We all go a little crazy with "little necessary purchases" after we first get paid, but be careful because they stack up.
3. Trying to save the rest of the paycheck but still going out for just *one more* chicken nugget run

Nuggets are absolutely necessary.
4. Working super hard to earn your money back
You start asking for more hours and ways to earn your sweet cash back. Hopefully, you get these hours, but be prepared to work super hard!
5. Trying to avoid your bank account
If you can't see it, does it mean it is there?
6. Staying home because you don't have enough money to go out
All you want is to hang out with your friends, but you have no money. Was the nuggets and Starbucks worth it?
7. Contemplate why you bought those unnecessary things when you first got paid
This is when you realize... the nuggets were not worth it.
8. Payday is tomorrow
9. Finally! More money!
All of your hard work paid off, and you're now swimming in cash. What's next?
10. Aaaand repeat!
Maybe you should learn to be frugal like Mr. Krabs!
