Heartbreak In College? Couldn't Be Me, And It Shouldn't Be You, Either

Having a broken heart in college is not the move. A reminder you may be needing.

College is full of so many new experiences that a hometown heartbreak shouldn't be keeping you down. Now, trust me, I know your first love was everything. And maybe one day you'll be together again. But, for right now focusing on yourself IS the move.

Loving yourself is first and foremost.

Realizing that you should come as your own priority allows you to thrive academically and socially. This is your time to figure out your likes and dislikes and as cliché as it sounds, find out who you are.

Listen to your heart when people and things excite you. That's where you should go.

I know when I first got to ASU, I knew I needed to be free and open to meet new people and experience new things. I needed to leave all past feelings and thoughts back at home.

Here and now is your time to shine.

Just think for a second... what would your experience be like if you hung on to the things making you unhappy? You'd be closed off and sad.

I'm not saying you can never think about that person or thing bringing you down but stay in the moment.

College is where you find the path you want to take, who you'd want to be.

So I'm telling you... don't get hung up on you know who. There's "plenty of fish in the sea." (I'm sorry I had to say it)

And don't forget that it is okay to not be okay. Take the time you need to grieve but remember you are allowed to be happy, you are allowed to laugh and you are allowed to pursue new people.

So eat up that ice cream, shed your last tear, open your door and get out there. Find who you are, love who you are.

XOXO

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
