I finished my first year of college, and I am about to start my second year. I'm excited to get back to school again, but also stressed about it. I love the late night hang outs with friends and new experiences, but I have a problem when it comes to the food situation. There isn't many options for healthy eating to begin with; especially when you have a card full of meal swipes that you need to use up. Some of the food places to chose from are Pizza Hut, Chick-Fil-A, burger joints, etc. Also fun night going out at 1 a.m. to get bad food to binge on. I had such a great time my first year, but I'm starting to feel my good times around my waist. I gained pretty close to the freshman fifteen, and I wasn't too happy about it. I also felt sick from eating fast food everyday for almost every meal. I was sluggish and my mind was clouded from my poor eating habits.
The first week was the most difficult, I had extremely bad headaches because of the lack of sugar and I was going to the bathroom every two seconds because you have to drink half of your weight in water. Another thing I didn't think would be a problem but proved to be a challenge, was the amount of food I had to consume. Usually diets restricts you on amounts, however with this diet I had trouble finishing my meals at times.I wanted to break my diet a few times within the first week, but I prevailed and made it to the second week. I found in my second week of the diet that I wasn't craving as much for sugar and bad foods like I had been. I noticed my skin clearing up, and a bit of an energy boost. My mind didn't feel so dull and my body didn't feel as sluggish. I felt fantastic.
My third week went by like a breeze, I felt like I had some order in my life and that I was finally getting healthy. Then I felt worried, because I wasn't going to be able to complete my fourth week, since my mom and I were going to Maryland for a week. I didn't want to revert back to my old eating habits and ruin all of the hard work I had done. So, our fantastic week in Maryland passed and I found out that I had much more self control than I thought, and very little desire for sweets and fried foods. Actually, fried food settled a little too heavy in my stomach causing me to become ill, which made me steer clear from it. I did eat bad foods though here and there; this made me worry that I was going to gain my weight back. Coming back from Maryland I realized I only gained a few pounds back which was no biggie. I started the diet again and am currently still going strong with it. I hope to continue the healthy eating habits I've learned from this diet when I go back to school, which is in less than two weeks. Another thing I've learned is that it is okay for me to treat myself from time to time and eat the bad foods I love. I have done countless of different diets, most were harmful to my body. But this diet is the best, safest diet I have ever done, and it does what it claims to do.
