So you may not know him now but you will know him very soon! Basile Shingu a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. While having deep roots within the Democratic Republic of Congo he keeps close to his culture. The 19 year old photographer is a member of the Immaculate Taste record label where he not only take pictures for the label but does graphic design for them also. When I asked him, "Homie what inspires he you?" He replied, "As cliche as it sounds pretty much everything inspires me." Which is one of the most cliche answers an artist can say...BUT I know it to be true due to working with him on many of my own projects. As one of his main clients I let him do all of the creative work I just come with my body and my clothing and let his mind wander. His favorite photographer as of right now is the late and great Bill Cunningham. May he rest in peace and hopefully he knows that he is missed. He plans on venturing into more things than just photography he plans on dipping himself into fashion design and only any form of design....SO maybe in the future if y'all need an interior decorator hit up BShingu. Finally, I asked "What do you want your work to be?" He replies instantly and passionately saying, "I want my work to be timeless. I want my work to evoke emotion whether it be nostalgia, happiness, laughter you know things of that nature." There is no want for his pictures to be all of that because they already are! If you would like to get into contact with BShingu my brother from another mother you can follow him at @Bshingu on Instagram or email him at ShinguBasile@gmail.com. Below I have some of the work that he has done for me in the past! The work that he does from me can range from business shots (3>2.96 but that is another article) and personal ones during events or while we are out on the town.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
