As a senior, getting into college is one of the best moments. It reaffirms all of the work you have put in during your high school years and opens up a whole new door of possibilities. If you got into college, you will definitely recognize these moments:

1. When you first get in, you are overwhelmed with excitement.

2. People begin to make fun of you for sporting your college's apparel every day.

3. But you continue to wear your college because you just can't help it.

4. When teachers assign homework, you try to work it into your busy schedule of watching Netflix.

5. But then later you, you check your grades and realize it's dropped by a whole letter.

6. But you tell yourself that "you're in college" so it dosen't matter.

7. And when people tell you to finish out the year strong, you try not to listen.

8. Because all you really want to do now is kick back and relax.

9. But as excited as you are to leave next year...

10. You are clinging on to the last moments of good food and sleep.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
