This one goes out to all you upperclassmen who are burned out and tired of going to class semester after semester with no end in sight. With school starting back, this is the perfect opportunity to refresh, restart, and make the most out of this semester.
First, wake up early.
If you have an 8am, by all means do not get up early! But if not, start your morning off half an hour earlier than you need to. This prevents you from rushing out the door and showing up to class in your sweat pants. Use the extra time to grab coffee, read something motivational, and have "me time" before your long day begins.
If you have a gym on campus-USE IT.
If your college is anything like mine, you automatically pay a huge gym fee each semester. I did not step foot in my gym until last semester and I regret not going sooner. Set a workout schedule- even if it's just walking around the track- to break up your classes. This will refresh your mind and reboost your energy to make it through the day. If the gym is not for you, see what other "activities" you are being forced to pay each year and utilize them!
Meet new people.
If you are a go-to-class-and-go-home type of person, maybe try sticking around on campus and meeting new people. Grab lunch with your Chem partner, or plan a study group with all new faces. If you are going to spend four years around the same class, you might as well get to know them.
Organize Organize Organize
I know all of these tips sounds boring and not fun at all, but trust me on this: when your life is together, you will feel like getting more done. So clean out your notebooks, fill in your planner and get to it!
Put in the same amount of effort in your easy classes as you do your hard one.
Sure, it may be your last general studies course but if you are not careful, slacking off can lead to an average grade. Use your easy courses as GPA boosters. Put in the effort, grab your A and move on. Take it from someones who has slacked off in an elementary course, don't let an easy course ruin you in the long run.
If you are further along in your college career, use this time to KICK BUTT. You have had several semesters to "get used to college". Now college is the only thing standing between you and the career you want for yourself. It can be easy to mentally check out and go through a rut, so take these next few days before classes start to prepare. You got this, pal.
