Get Ready For Superbowl Sunday

The playoff's are over and the Superbowl has been decided. This Sunday the Falcons and the Patriots will battle it out for the ultimate title of being Superbowl Champions. Here are a few ways to celebrate this day full of football, friends, and family.

1. Throw a Superbowl Party: Gather all your football fans together and have a day long party to build up to kickoff at 6:30. There are so many fun recipes to make such as football shapes rice crispies, or traditional dishes such as buffalo chicken dip. Enjoy some good food, friends, and football.

2. Go to a Sports Bar: Watching a sports game at a sports bar gives off a completely different atmosphere from sitting in your living room. If you don't want to have people over make a trip to your local sports bar and mingle with your fellow football lovers.

3. Just Watch for the Ads: Some people don't really care about the game itself (am I right ladies?) One of the most entertaining parts of the night are seeing all the new ads companies splurge on for a 30 second spot.

4. Tune in for the Halftime Show: Another prominant part of this iconic night is the Halftime show. This year Lady Gaga will be taking the stage by herself, so we are all excited to see what she has in store.

Whether you are a huge sports fan or not the Superbowl is one of the most anticipated time of the year. Maybe your team didn't make it to the end this year, but that shouldn't discourage you from tuning into the game. I mean hey, you will get to see some great ads and some great football too!

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
