6 Ways To Prepare For The Best Season Of The Year, Fall

With August quickly coming to an end, the fall season is approaching us. For a lot of people, including me, this is the best season. Between the cooler weather and haunted houses around the corner, there are a ton of things to do and look forward to during fall. September is popping up, so here are a few things I like to do to get ready for the fall season!

1. Break out the comfy sweaters.

For most people, fall is great because we get to dress comfy and cozy without melting in the sun. Fall typically brings cool, crisp weather, allowing many of us to break out our favorite sweater or hoodie. The level of comfort makes the season much more enjoyable because honestly, who doesn't love a nice hoodie?

They can also make for cute outfits during these fall months. A sweater, jeans, and some accessories can make you look stylish while still being comfortable and warm. It's also great when you and your friends can sit on the couch, put on a movie, and wrap yourself in a giant hoodie to get cozy.

2. Make a list of all the limited edition fall drinks to try.

When I think about fall, the first thing that comes to my mind is holiday drinks. There is a huge excitement when Starbucks releases that statement that the beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte is coming back in stock since it's only offered for a few months out of the year. Since many drinks around fall are limited edition, I think making a list of all the cool, new drinks to try during these months would be fun! It's a chance for you to switch up your typical iced coffee and get into the festivities with your drink.

3. Rearrange your closet.

Fall time means bringing out all of your warm, bulky clothes to prep for the cooler months ahead. This is a great time to rearrange your closet and move stuff around. It's also a great chance to clean out what you do and don't want for the coming winter months or even the next summer. Many of us put stuff away once warm weather approaches without even thinking if it's something you still want. Bringing all of your fall clothes out and putting tank tops and shorts away is going to make it much easier when the cold weather hits you. It might even give you the chance to see what you do and don't have, like if you're missing a big winter coat or a pair of boots.

4. Pull out all your pumpkins.

Fall is definitely my favorite time to decorate my room. There are endless options to decorate, and there are a wide variety of stores to pick up festive decorations from! Pumpkins are my favorite thing to buy because they come in so many different styles. It ties into the fall spirit but also gets everyone in the mood for Halloween, which is right around the corner. Decorating for fall also brings a nice level of comfort to any room you decorate because of all the warm, cozy colors. It's also the perfect excuse to burn some fall scented candles to add to the ambiance of the season ahead.

5. Look up local fall festivals to attend.

During the fall season, a lot of places will open their doors to let you enjoy some fall festivities. Whether it be pumpkin patches or corn mazes, there is always something to do around this time! Farmers will often transform their land into a Fall Festival to let friends and family come and enjoy some simple fun. This is also a great opportunity to take some cute pictures and show off your fall vibes! It definitely gets everyone in the spirit for the upcoming holidays.

6. Prep for 'spooky' season.

For a lot of people, fall is a direct correlation to Halloween. There are so many things to look forward to during the months of September and October to get your adrenaline pumping. In addition to those fall festivals, many people will set up haunted houses and scare zones. Some of the more common ones are "Howl-O-Scream" and "Halloween Horror Nights." These are events that are sure to give you that spooky season vibe as you roam through theme parks getting spooked in and out of the haunted houses. It is personally my favorite time of the year. Between the cute and scary Halloween decorations and the nights at the parks getting scared with friends, it allows you to get deep into the fall season.

These are only a few of the ways I like to get ready for fall, and I hope you can use them when you and your friends are getting prepared!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
