I'm in my second semester during my sophomore year of college. I've been in school for a long time. Throughout my years I've had many teachers. Once that I didn't agree with their teaching style and others that were the perfect match for me. I've had teachers and influences from my schooling that have taught me so many things about myself and knowledge about the world.
When I think about my favorite teachers it's always the same ones that stand out in my mind. These are the type of teachers that you'll think about the rest of your life. Hopefully you'll keep in touch for a while. There are ones that I had for one year but a relationship with for longer. Ones that I had for multiple years and whose classroom's became my second home. Ones that weren't a subject teacher but were influences in my life that I'll always remember. I wish I could become a teacher because of the impact these teachers had on me. I always hear people saying how little teachers make. Teachers are so underrated. They deserve all the money in the world because they give their students the world right out of the their hands. They help us with our common everyday skills. Obviously they teach us the subject like English or History or how to play an instrument. But they also teach us lessons we can use in life. They care about us. They care about your problems and if you're upset. They care about how well you do in and out of their class. They care if you get in trouble and if you're safe. They get to know you as a student and you not as a student.
I could not say thank you enough to these teachers that have had a lasting imprint on my life. I hope you all know that your hard work does not go unnoticed when it comes to your students. That we know and believe you deserve so much more. We wish you could get everything you deserve. But thank you. Thank you for teaching me where to put my commas and which 'there', 'their' or 'they're' to use. Thank you for teaching me about how our country evolved and about Sigmund Freud. Thank you for teaching me about the accounting cycle and teaching me how to read music. Thank you for teaching me how to write cursive and how to use my brain. Thank you for letting me talk to you about anything. Thank you for always making me look forward to school. Thank you for letting me know that I always had someone to go to in school. Thank you for still caring even though I'm not a student of yours anymore. Thank you for your humor, your jokes and making me laugh. Thank you for absolutely everything, nothing goes unnoticed trust me. I hope you guys come to our reunions!!
I was so fortunate to have incredible teachers throughout elementary school and high school. In college, I've only found three teachers like this. I hope everyone gets a chance to have teachers like mine. My advice to students, especially in high school is to get to know your teachers, appreciate them, respect them. You'll look back in 30 years and remember those certain teachers. You'll be telling your children about them. These teachers will leave an impression on you for the rest of your life so let them!
I'm grateful and lucky to have had amazing teachers. I hope everyone is.
