This past Friday, I was introduced by one of my sisters to the executive board of a new group on Ball State’s campus. Being a photographer gives you a lot of insight on people, for instant, how they react to directions, how they work with others, and what kind of personality they have. After take these girls’ photos, I found myself really lucky to have met them.
Who are these girls, you may ask? Well, let me introduce you to the women of Ball State's CHAARG!
CHAARG is a group focused on encouraging health and fitness in college-aged girls looking for a friendly and fun environment to work out in. By partnering with different companies, CHAARG gives women opportunities, such as hot yoga and CrossFit, to test out different workout styles and eventually help them “find their fit.” If you're like me and tend to feel very awkward and self-conscious going to the gym, then joining a group like this, which promotes positivity and a healthy lifestyle, would be very beneficial. This organization teaches you that the importance of getting in charge of your life and having fun while doing it.
As a fairly new organization, CHAARG currently holds 24 chapters across the country and is hoping to expand. With CHAARG beginning it's first recruitment season at BSU, it’s amazing to see history being made on campus by such an empowering group of women. In this day and age, a group that creates a lifestyle that promotes women to be the best version of themselves is exactly what we all need.
