"Rooster Teeth"

Summer is the perfect time for everyone to go on vacation. School’s out, the sun’s shining, what more could you ask for? Events become more frequent now that it is more likely for the weather to be splendid. So what kind of events? Well, I got one in store for you called RTX 2017! I usually stick with conventions that are happening in the East Coast or New England, but this one is too good to pass up. If you are in the Austin, TX area or planning to be there around the second week of July, you should get your tickets to RTX.

So what is RTX? It is a convention held in Austin, Texas from July 7th-9th (Friday to Saturday) that is themed around the gaming and Internet culture. Just like their saying: “Where gaming meets the internet”. It was created and hosted by the American production company known as “Rooster Teeth” whose work include the internet hit sensation called “Red vs. Blue” and a plethora of other shows available on their site: https://roosterteeth.com/. RTX first started in 2011 and after reaching successful heights, “Rooster Teeth” decided to make it an annual convention.

So what will be at RTX? Some pretty awesome people! They just announced on their instagram that “Sugar Pine 7”, creators of the “Castlevania animated series”, popular twitch streamers Ray Narvaez Jr. and Tina Dayton, “Chilled Chaos”, “Smosh Games”, “Cow Chop”, Cosplaying legend Meg Turney, Mega 64, “Comicstorian”, and “Game Attack” to be the newest addition of guests at RTX 2017. Based on the previous convention guests, “Funhaus” and “Achievement Hunter”, (duh), to be at the convention too. RTX officially has their first event announced that a theatrical screening of “Castlevania” will be at RTX followed a Q&A session with the series’ director, Sam Deats and executive producers, Kevin Kolde and Fred Seibert. Some other shows to be expected are live podcasts such as “Off Topic”, “The Rooster Teeth Podcast”, “Dude Soup”, and more. There will also be hilarious shows such as live gaming and let’s plays by the internet celebrities from “Rooster Teeth” and their guests. If you like to see a more detailed list of the guests appearing at RTX, check out right below the exhibitor section on http://www.rtxaustin.com/.

So what can expect by being at RTX? Just all around constant fun and entertainment. If you want to get a sense of what RTX can be like, the best way to do that is watch some of their videos on either YouTube or https://roosterteeth.com/and you will catch on how the overall atmosphere of the convention will be like. RTX 2017 is going to be at the Austin Convention Center at 500 E. Cesar Chavez, Austin, TX from July 7th-9th. Tickets are still on sale for single day passes that start just only $45 or you can get a three-day pass for just $95, which would save you about $35 if you bought every individual day pass. You can find everything you need to know about RTX 2017 on http://www.rtxaustin.com/ and if you go there, Happy Con-ing and I’m not jealous at all.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
