Liberty City Anime Convention

Need more anime conventions to thirst your quench Manhattans and New Jersey/New York residents? Say no more. I got the thing to satisfy your desire. On August 18th-20th, Liberty City Anime Con will be taking place at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York. This young and very new convention will be focused mainly on the world and culture of anime. It makes me happy to see another convention to join the family of anime-based conventions in the Northeast region of the U.S. such as Anime Boston, Animaine, and Another Anime Convention.

If you’re tight on a budget, no need to fret, a three-day pass only costs $60. That’s only $20 a day! And if you aren’t able to make it for this year, you can get tickets for next year’s event right after the convention ends and it is at a low price of only $25! Mathematically, we are speaking only $8.33 for each day. There is a price increase by the time the convention gets closer, so my advice: get your tickets as soon as possible. Just in case, there is also single-day passes going as low as $40. Time is tight, so pre-register soon by clicking right here for their website: https://libertycityanimecon.com/event/161?r=/conregistrations/161.

So what’s going to be at Liberty City Anime Convention? There will always be the typical panels, screenings, and Q&A’s. You can see or even register for the cosplay contest and have a chance to win prizes. Musical events featuring 2une. Into raves and clubs, there is going to be a nightly dance set with a DJ, sweet lighting, and subwoofers. Into dancing, but not clubs? Liberty City Anime Con also has the Magic 8-ball that is their form of a formal dance. Music set to waltz and slow tunes. You can only really know what’s going to be at the convention if you get your passes and go! You can see the full list of panels and the schedule by going on their website by clicking here: https://libertycityanimecon.com/panels.

Liberty City Anime Convention also has a huge list of celebrities and guests of the anime world. Tyler Walker is the ADR director for “FUNimation Entertainment”, Chuck Hubber who has a role in the popular “D-Gray Man Hallow”, and the one and only Todd Haberkorn who voices Natsu from “Fairy Tail”. Check here for Liberty City Anime Convention’s full list and detail of their guests: https://libertycityanimecon.com/guests.

I see a lot from Liberty City Anime Convention that they have to offer. So come down to New York and see some of your favorite anime roles, cosplayers, and fellow otakus in the heart of Times Square.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
