What do "The Walking Dead," "Vampire Diaries" and "Captain America: Civil War" all have in common? They are all great or will be amazing because "Civil War" doesn't get released until May. Gather up those tissues because it's going to make us cry our eyes out. Besides that all of these three productions were filmed in Georgia. It's strange to think about but Georgia is actually the top filming location in the country. How and why might be the next set of questions that you ponder through your head.

It's simple. Georgia offers an absolutely amazing tax incentive. In 2002, the state introduced the first tax incentive bill. However in 2005, they introduced a more progressive tax incentive. It was later updated in 2008. The Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Actoffers film productions 20 percent tax credit and 10 percent if the production puts the Georgia logo in the title or credits. So anytime you see this, now you know: With a super great tax incentive brings all sorts of production companies wanting to be part of this great deal. Since 1972, Georgia has been home to over 800 and growing film and television productions. In 2015, the state was home to over 250 film and television productions which garnered over $6 billion toward the Georgia economy. Yes, $6 billion. With a huge impact like that, 2016 is going to be even bigger and better with all of the amazing film productions that are filming and coming out this year.

Your next question might be "How do I get to be an extra or work in a film that Chris Pratt is starring in?" Again, it's simple. There is no need to pull some super stalker moves just to see the Pratt up close and personal. Unless you want to but I would advise against that. You don't want to ruin your reputation.

First off, take your desire to be a crew member on a film set to the social media world. Facebook and Twitter are your best bet in finding out if certain productions need help. Check out the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Facebook and Twitter pages. Constantly check these because you never know what will appear! If you are applying to be a crew member make sure that your resume stands out. Saying "I will do anything" doesn't make you stand out in the crowd. Specify what department you want to work in.

Secondly, if you want to just be an extra, you better stalk social media as well. Most of the calls for extras come from agencies who randomly post that they have some extra spots open on social media. Have a headshot prepared and know your measurements. Just remember, you might end up standing around all day and be bored out of your mind. Prepare yourself. For more tips and tricks on the extra life, check out this insightful article.

Finally, if you just want to know what was filmed in Georgia and when it will come out in theaters then I've got you covered. Check this list out for all the upcoming movies being released in theaters. Sorry if you missed your favorite actor coming to town; he or she might be back real soon. Now if you just really want to see your favorite movie star in the ATL then just stalk the social media air waves. You might just find them.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
