As Alice Cooper would say, "school's out for the summer;" and we're all wondering what to do now with all our time. Summertime is in full swing in Georgia; those awful midday showers are back and so is the hot sun. There is an excitement that follows the constant warm weather; however there is also a yearning to do something more adventurous this summer. Let's be real sitting by the pool all day or the beach you've basically grown up on is getting old. Don't let this summer go to waste! Be adventurous! There is so much to do in Georgia, so get out of your comfort zone and start adventuring!
1. Fricks Cave, Walker County, GA
Frick's Cave is Georgia's richest biologic environment, and is also home to the gray bat.
2. Wormsloe Plantation, Savannah, GA
882 acres of historic beauty. Just the avenue leading into the estate is breathtaking. The picturesque oak lined 1.5 mile avenue is worth the visit.
3. Panther Creek Falls, Clarksville, GA
Panther Creek Falls is such a beautiful sight; it is a cluster of multi-tiered waterfalls that fall into the clear blue water below. You can enjoy a swim in the falls or you could hike the Panther Creek Trail if you don't feel like getting wet.
4. Providence Canyon State Park, Lumpkin, GA
Have you ever wanted to see what the Grand Canyon looks like but don't want to take a trip out of Georgia? Providence Canyon is the closest thing you get to the Grand Canyon in South East. Providence Canyon is also known as "Georgia's Little Grand Canyon" because the massive, up to 150 ft. gullies that resemble the real thing.
5. Lovers Leap, Rock City, GA
If not 200 million-year-old rock formations, then go for the views of seven states from Lover's Leap on Lookout Mountain. As you explore the 14 acres of trails, caves, waterfalls, and plant life, don't miss the Swing a Long bridge or Mother Goose Village
6. Rainbow Hall, Rock City, GA
This wondrous, view is another attraction in Rock City. There are colored gels in the windows that create the illusion of walking through a rainbow.
