On Election Day, EVERY single person's vote matters.
It's not just voting for the next president of the United States. It's voting for district judges, senators, representatives, referendums and more.
Voting is not like a test in school. You can go PREPARED. Before heading out to the polls, look up sample ballots, STUDY those amendments and make SURE you know what you're voting for and against to pass or not.
You would think everyone who has the chance to vote, would... that's not the case. I myself voted early today for the first time ever in a general election (October 27, 2016). I could NOT wait for the time I could vote. I was ready to get that "I VOTED!" sticker! Why doesn't everyone else have that attitude? You should. Trust me, casting a vote feels great. The youth vote declined in the 2012 election... let's show the people we have a voice this election.
Many people outside of the United States don't have the freedom you do to have the option to pick their leader. You do. Vote.
"Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters."— Abraham Lincoln
You can't complain if you don't voice your opinion. No excuses! You shouldn't want other people making choices for you. Some elections come very, very close. So there it goes again, your vote matters. If you vote, that basically means canceling out a vote for the opposing running candidate... that's big. You are setting up for YOUR future... and for your kids, or your future kids lives. Think about it.
People have fought so hard for their right to get to this point.
Bonus: YOU GET A FREE STICKER!!!
Only around 60 percent of eligible voters vote in general elections... let's change that in 2016.
How to vote if you are ALREADY registered to vote (Absentee or in-person voting):
Google "absentee ballot." There will be a drop-down list. Click your state and there are directions on in-person voting (November 8) and by mail/early voting (depends on the date for which your state requires)!
Feel free to email me at meaganmowery@gmail.com for questions about voting! I would love to try to help.
