The word geek means "to be overexcited about a specialized subject or activity." Now many people get confused with the word geek. They use geek as word to put people down just like the words, nerd or dork. A geek is quite the opposite of a put down. People should take pride in being a geek because it shows someones' heart and intelligence. Geeks are smart enough to independently chose their likes and interests while having the bravery to be passionate about them.
I consider myself a geek. I have many interests that I care deeply about such as learning, juggling and magic. I am also obsessed with the Philadelphia sixers, comics books and video games. I take pride in the fact that I can potentially be so passionate about certain topics to the point where that is all I talk about. So for anyone who took the time to read this, I encourage you to be a geek. Let the passionate side of yourself out without any shame. Take the time to learn about yourself, your likes and interests and be a geek.
