29 GCSU Problems

Every college has things that make it unique, however, GCSU seems to have multiple characteristics that make it stand out from other small schools. It's hometown feel and community within make for some pretty fun stories. From the lack of parking, to being in small classrooms all GC students can't help but love the sweet town of Milly, even with all its problems.

1. The gym dress code is basically stricter than most attendance policies

2. Having to drive around in circles to find a parking spot

3. Hating the MAX as a freshman, but cherishing free swipe-ins when you're not a freshman

4. Finding a study room is pretty much like finding a parking spot

5. If you go DT, expect to run into everyone you have ever met in your entire life

6. The On campus Chick-Fil-A is not nearly as good as the off campus Chick-Fil-A

7. But, the on-campus Chick-Fil-A takes bobcat cards so it's worth it

8. Trying to get a good item off Bobcat Exchange before someone else comments on it

9. The Barbs line

10. Getting handed 1000 flyers on the way to class

11. The "How to get to Heaven" guy

12. Not having a wide variety of stores in Milledgeville

14. Having to drive to Macon to go to the stores Milly doesn't have

15. Not all restaurants take bobcat cards

16. "The Fountain" is a well-known meeting spot

17. You can't walk anywhere without stopping to pet a puppy

18. The handicap door outside A&S is the heaviest thing ever and is not humanly possible to open by yourself

19. Trying to figure out which way to slide your bobcat card to print something out

20. Accidentally walking into a tour

21. Stepping on cockroaches, or almost dying to try to avoid stepping on one

22. Everything seems to be haunted

23. SNAP always seems to be busy or has a super long wait

24. If you get to ride SNAP, you feel like a rockstar

25. Getting so excited about new apartment complexes

26. Trying to find the chalk mines

27. Sweet Treats isn't open on Sunday

28. Things happen like the "Milledgeville Water Crisis"

29. The water crisis happened not just once, but twice

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
