Game day in Happy Valley is an important day especially as State College becomes the fourth largest city in Pennsylvania. To make the most out of your day here are some Dos and Don'ts:
Do: Pace yourself
Recommended for you
Whether it's a noon kickoff or an 8 p.m. kickoff, to avoid passing out before the game actually begins be sure to not take a bunch of shots at once. There is nothing worse than getting an underage on game day.
Don't: Boo the other team
As much as some teams rustle your feathers, have class and don't boo the other team. We were just called some of the best fans by San Diego State so let's act like it.
Do: Wear Penn State gear
Show your pride and wear your favorite Penn State grandparent/uncle/mom t-shirt. Bonus points for the people who braid their t-shirt or make it into a halter top.
Don't: Sit down during the game
This one should be pretty obvious, but unfortunately you can still see people sitting at the game in the student section. Everyone should be standing, cheering, and waving their pom-poms.
Do: Take advantage of all the food
Buffalo chicken dip. Bagels. Burgers and dogs. Tailgates have an awesome spread of food so be sure to fill your plate and it'll also help you pace yourself.
Don't: Forget to thank your tailgate hosts
Be sure to thank whoever hosted you that day even if you just had a beer. Aside from being polite, a little kindness goes a long way and makes sure you'll get invited back to their next tailgate.
Do: Get tossed up when we score
Not only does it make for an awesome Instagram, but it is something every girl (and guy) should do before they graduate.
Do: Get a chicken basket!
Beaver Stadium chicken baskets are a time-honored tradition and with only seven home games, take advantage of the delicious combination of chicken fingers and fries.
