The Social Workers On The Gabriel Fernandez Case Were A Prime Example To Do Better

I loved the show, but the social workers should've gone to a jury.

The Trials Of Gabriel Fernandez netflix

Watching the show, I was shocked that they even charged the social workers. I was so surprised that the District Attorney even thought to take it that far, but as I watched and got more and more info with every episode, the social workers should've gotten a sentence and gone in front of a jury.

Social Workers know their job before they even knock on the door. They know to check on the kid's condition, check the house, etc. You're telling me that not one, not two, but FOUR social workers, never took Gabriel away and they were lazy when it came to their job. The Fernandez family got hotline after hotline and that was never a red flag to them? They thought to themselves, "Maybe there is something going on. Maybe the parents are hiding something from me." If I was a social worker, and someone had hotlined that a kid had burns on his neck, had chunks of hair missing, etc. you bet I'd be investigating that case thoroughly the first time it came around.

Even later in the show, you see another social who is going to a house to check on a 5-month-old baby because the foster mom got a hotline, come to find out that the baby was living in perfect condition and had nothing wrong with her living space, but it was obvious that the social worker was doing her job properly and investigated like she was supposed to. The social workers that were a part of Gabriel's case, DID NOT do their job properly. Pearl and her boyfriend couldn't even cover up the scene correctly when they KNEW that the paramedics were coming. You know there had to be things that were on the floor or in the house when they didn't know that the social workers were coming.

Moral of the story, the social workers were lazy and it will be very hard for them to find a job at another company because they will forever have this case in their background. An 8-year-old boy's death would've been prevented if the social workers would've done their job correctly and gave Gabriel their all.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
