Some people my age have no idea what they want to do, they get to college and focus on their general education and go from there, and that's perfectly okay! I, on the other hand, have figured out my career path and know exactly what I want to do. Ever since I was five years old, I always wanted to be a mother and a pediatrician. However, when I took anatomy in high school, I realized that being a pediatrician was probably out of my future plans. I knew I had the knowledge to be a doctor but realized that even the thought of blood made me nauseous. When I realized this, I thought I would never find a job where I could help children and make an impact on their lives. Than it hit me like a bus, a teacher makes a lasting impression on every child they teach. Whether it be a good impression or a bad one, they still make an impact and that is something I have always wanted to do.

I’m going to college with the hopes of getting my degree in Early Childhood Education. After getting my degree, I plan to apply at my former school and other schools surrounding this area. I remember looking up to my teachers and wanting to be just like them. When I entered high school I knew I wanted to help shape the young minds of children.

After pursuing my dream job, I will get married and hopefully have 10 children. My parents will be so happy! Big families are important to my family because we feel it is good to have a blood relation you can also call your best friends. I personally know that without my siblings I would not be half the person I am today. Through the good times and the bad they have always had my back when things get rocky and I could only hope my future children will have the same experience. After raising my children I will be at least 50 years old in which case I will be able to take some time off in order to travel the world and grow old with the man of my dreams, living happily ever and creating memories that will be passed down through future generations.

A Note to Readers: Having goals has got me this far and I can't wait to see how far it brings me in the future. You may not have it all figured out, you may not have any clue about anything. But I encourage you to set a handful of reachable goals. I promise that once you succeed at one, you will feel great and strive to reach the rest!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
