While Millennials Are Busy Planning Their Future Children's Names, I'm Planning My 8 FutureĀ  Dogs Names

As my ten-year high school reunion comes nervously closer, I find myself seeing more babies in my Facebook and Instagram feed. While I am happy for my peers, I'm more excited to plan my life around as many dogs as possible. Here are the names I have picked out for my favorite furry, four-legged children.

1. Emily.

James Barker

Emily is named after the chocolate Labrador Retriever from my grooming salon days. She reminds me of her so much, with her playfulness and trouble-maker attitude. She always wants my attention - and she will get it because I love her spunk.

2. Ziggy.

Jf Brou

Ziggy is the beautiful, snowy white Samoyed in my life. She is a certified service dog and therapy dog. She loves to take care of her humans. Because she travels everywhere with me, we like to go to the Great North and take picturesque selfies in the mountains.

3. Oliver.

Savs

Oliver is the smarts of the pack. He always steals Kibble from everyone else and sleeps with one eye open. He's such a classy dork that I love him to pieces. When my ex and I broke up, he cuddled in bed with me until I was ready to break out the (vanilla) ice cream. He got some of course.

4. Pickles.

Jairo Alzate

Pickles is Emily's son. At eight months, he ate a pickle and made a sour face. As a result, that name stuck. He loves kids and squirrels, but he has to love chewing shoes most of all. What can I say? He's just like his mom - a trouble-maker at heart.

5. Freya.

Lucas Ludwig

Named after the Norse goddess of love and fertility, Freya is a rescued pit bull that is the gentlest creature I've ever had. She loves playing with her siblings and making sure they behave well. She is obedient, kind and sweet. Everyone can't help but fall in love with her.

6. Nanuk.

Kieran White

Nanuk means "polar bear" in the native Alaskan language. He may seem intimidating with his brooding, serious face, but he is a cuddle-master. Of course, he is a fierce protector of both me and his siblings. Whenever he perceives a threat (which means the door bell), he barks until he is sure he can trust you.

7. Leia.

Marko Blažević

Leia is my sister's boxer. But I just had to include her on my list because I love how sprightly and sweet she is. Her cousins love her and wish she visited more often. But she loves the Rockies where she goes on hikes and swims in the most beautiful rivers in the summer.

8. Fiona.Ā

And finally, Fiona! She has catitude, even though she is a dog. She is the queen of the house even though she is the smallest. Everyone knows Fiona is the first to be fed and the first to have a belly rub. Her siblings don't have a problem with it as long as she doesn't steal their toys when they're playing with them.

I have no favorites, of course. I love them all for how different they are from one another. I couldn't live without them even if they are my future pets.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but donā€™t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I canā€™t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
