To My Furry Best Friend in Heaven

I miss you and thank you

To My Furry Best Friend in Heaven

To my furry little best friend in Heaven,

I want you to know that I miss you more than I can put into words. I miss your sweet personality, your ability to put up with me constantly holding you like a baby, and your love for anything bacon, bologna, chicken, and (best of all) French fries. But the thing I miss most is your total and complete love for me. You, as a dog, knew nothing but love, and showed nothing but love. And while you may be gone from us here on Earth, that love unconditional love that you showed continues to stay. I want to thank you for all of the years of cheering me up when I felt sad, and always raising my spirits. But I want to thank you for something else, as well.

Thank you for making me see even some of the unconditional love that Jesus has for us. Kind of like our furry little best friends, no matter what we have done in the past, what we look like, how much money we have, what are disabilities are, or what background we have, we are totally and unequivocally loved by Jesus. He forgives us and loves us for who we are, and looks past the rest. When we've been gone from His arms for a while, He is absolutely thrilled when we come back to Him.

I like to believe that God put dogs here on Earth to remind us of that. Dogs are truly one of God's greatest gifts to humanity, and a reminder of the joy that is still in the world, even though there may be much darkness.

And although you may be gone from me for now, I know I'll see your sweet face again in Heaven one day. I know that day will be such a celebration, and I can't wait hold you like a baby again, talk long walks with you again, and pet your furry little head again.

Thank you for being my little guardian angel, and for reminding me some of what the true and ultimate unconditional love looks likes.

With love,

Your Human Best Friend

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
