8 April Fool's Pranks That Will Make Your Roommate Wish They Had Committed To Their Other School

In This Article:

With April Fools day creeping ever so quickly closer, it is time to start planning all of the maniacal tricks and traps you are going to set up for your friends (or enemies). If you don't want to go too big with your evil plots but still want to infuse some light-hearted fun into the day, here are some great pranks that will get you and your victims laughing.

1. Minty fresh treats

Giphy

If you want to not so subtly let your friends know that they need to do a little better brushing their teeth in the morning, try filling some Oreos with plain, white cream toothpaste and offer them up as some snacks.

Nothing says I love you like mint and chocolate!

2. A pop of color in their smile

Giphy

Is your roommate's smile just too perfect? Do they always wear monochromatic outfits and just look too fashion forward? Pop some food dye onto the bristles of their toothbrush to give a hint of color to their day's 'fit.

3. Spiders!

Giphy

Want to give your co-worker a spook? Print out a colored photo of a gnarly looking spider and carefully place it in your friend's favorite coffee mug or pair of shoes for a bit of a shock.

4. Ticking time bomb

Giphy

Do you know someone who just loves an ice cold glass of soda? Prep your ice tray with mentos in each cube. Let them freeze overnight. On the big day, surprise your friend with a nice glass of pop with ice and wait for the magic to begin.

5. Chicken soup for the body

Giphy

Beware community bathroom users! Make your unsuspecting neighbors feel like they are taking a shower in their favorite comfort food by unscrewing the head of your shower faucet and leaving a chicken bouillon cube inside. When your victim goes to take a shower, they'll begin wondering who's making chicken soup only to realize… it's them!

6. Don't be a weenie

Looking for something that will leave your friends simply asking, "Why?" Tie a clear string to your favorite food, such as hot dogs or to potatoes and hang them from the ceiling, giving them a floating effect. The sheer level of ridiculousness of this prank would make anyone laugh.

7. Someone is watching!

Giphy

For a simple and silly trick, put googly eyes on everything! Your clock, your fridge, your lamp, anything you can think of!

8. Cage them in

Bella Koscal

Print out a mildly absurd amount of photos of Nicholas Cage and tape them all over your victim's room, door, car, etc. They are caged in!

And yes, I really did do this to my friend's car.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.
