Like most of my fellow Americans, I spent my Monday night sitting in my bedroom watching the drama unfold of the first presidential debate, and man was it entertaining. With the facial expressions, the body language, the insults, poor Lester Holt never getting the chance to talk and so much more... it was entertaining. You had live fact checking, insults, eye rolls, Trump duck lips, China and Mexico being mentioned every five seconds, Lester Holt attempting to tell Clinton and Trump they are going over their time limit and being ignored, and so much more crazy scenarios.

But, there was something that was even more entertaining than those two crazies on stage. I know what you're thinking: How on Earth could anything have been more entertaining than that? Well, that thing was Twitter. On Twitter, there were multiple hashtags about the debate. A few of them that ended up becoming trending topics, some even having cute little logos beside them were "#debatenight" as well as "#debate2016" and "#debates." Some not trending but very note-worthy were "#SaveLester" and "#SaveLesterHolt." If you didn't watch, Lester Holt was the poor, ignored moderator of the debate tonight. Each of these topics, whether trending or not, were full of funny and creative tweets that were critiquing each candidate.

After scrolling through all of these topics, I found that some of the things said were true Internet gold that needed to be put on a pedestal and shown to the rest of the world, especially to fellow voters. So, I decided to share some of the funniest ones on the web tonight. These tweets range from celebrities, comedians, YouTubers, police officers, and regular people like you and me. Thank you Internet, you once again add some comic relief to this election year.

1. On computer knowledge

2. On Hillary's confidence

3. When you remember what's really going on

4. On treating Trump's sickness like Hillary's

They've already created a whole Twitter for it...

5. On Lester Holt

6. On looking into other options

7. On trying to get the police to fix this

8. On Trump's Policies

9. Ummm??

10. On the future

Although the debate may have scared you for the future, I hope after watching that it has encouraged you to register to vote and actually go out and vote. Or as Hillary would say... Pokemon Go to the polls! If you missed tonight's debate there are two more, as well as a Vice Presidential Debate, but you should definitely look up clips on the internet to stay informed. The best voter is an informed voter.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
