7 Of The Funniest Must-Watch TV Shows Out There

In This Article:

I hold my comedy to a high standard, so when I sit down to watch a comedy TV show it must follow a certain set of rules.

These rules are:

1. I must laugh so loudly that I draw the attention of other people around me.

2. It must contain minimal sex jokes and graphic scenes; there are only so many sex jokes one can take!

3. It must be live-action and realistic. This makes it more relatable and therefore funnier.

4. After watching one episode, my spirits are lifted. Because isn't that the point of comedy?

5. I can watch the same episodes over and over again and not get bored.

Below is a list of 7 of the funniest TV shows that I go to for comedy relief, and I highly recommend you do too!

"The Office"

The Office takes the number 1 spot for comedy on my list. This show follows a . . . unique cast of characters in a paper company office in Scranton, PA. The situations these characters manage to get themselves into is so out of this world that you can't help but laugh at everything that this roller coaster of a show offers.

"Friends"

To have watched Friends is to be ingrained into American pop culture. The group of friends that the show follows are relatable and never fail to make you laugh.

"Derry Girls"

"Derry Girls" is the most underrated show on this list. It follows a group of Catholic girls in Northern Ireland in the 90s and all the trouble that they manage to get themselves into. . .

"Brooklyn 99"

"Brooklyn 99" follows a group of detectives in Brooklyn's 99th precinct. Jake Peralta is a child living inside an NYPD detective, his antics and personality bring out the best in the other characters of the precinct. The show is light-hearted and fun and makes you wish you were an NYPD detective . . . sometimes.

"Parks & Recreation"

Filmed much like "The Office," "Parks & Recreation" follows a group of people in the Parks & Recreation department of a small town in Indiana. The main character, Leslie Knope, is a model public servant who genuinely cares for the people around her.

"Schitt's Creek"

This show follows an affluent family that loses all of their money and are left with only one asset, a town named Schitt's Creek that they bought as a joke. Now they're forced to move there and adjust to a different lifestyle.

"Impractical Jokers"

"Impractical Jokers" is the only non-fiction show on this list. It follows a group of friends from New York who have been playing pranks on each other since they met in high school. They take their pranks to the street of New York and it's crazy to see the things they come up with. They must set up challenges, if one of them fails a challenge then they must be "punished."

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
