Everyone procrastinates at some point. Its part of being a human being but letting it happen too much can be a problem. If you're anything like me, you try to make yourself feel better by doing other things that are some what productive...it makes you feel less guilty. Here are some things you can do while procrastinating that deadline...

1. Clean your house

This one is a personal favorite. It makes you feel like you're being productive and it gets you focused. It eases off the guilt a bit...I mean whats better than reorganizing your pantry when you should be doing that essay due in 2 days?

2. Call your mom

She worries about you every day so why not? Its something you've been meaning to do anyway....so just get it out of the way while you still have time.

3. Fold your laundry

With that ever looming deadline over your head...why not fold that laundry that's been in your chair for 3 days? It needs to get done...and its better than watching Netflix.

4. Organize your office or desk

Whats better than making yourself feel productive than actually being productive? Organizing your school supplies and desk is a perfect way to make you feel like your life is together and not a chaotic mess.

5. Work out

You know you've been meaning to go to the gym, and having a 5 page paper due in 3 days is the perfect time to do just that!!! I mean its healthy, and productive (somewhat).

6. Read a book

Everyone likes to read a little...as long as it isn't for a due date. It will make you feel like its important but in reality its just another tactic of getting out of work.

7. Update yourself on Politics

What is happening in the government is important...and you need to know the most recent news! I mean why not learn what Donald Trump is up to? All you have to do is look at his twitter account (bonus points if you browse memes).

8. Sit and wallow in your self pity

You've now wasted 3 to 4 hours doing meaningless things and now you have to cram but that's the fun part of college. Good luck! Just think...your house is clean and your mom is satisfied you called her...so its somewhat of a win!

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
