Sunday at Farmers Market.

A great way to spend your Sunday is by going to the Farmers Market at Lake Eola Park, in downtown Orlando. Lots of fresh food, plants, and handmade craft items. This place is also dog friendly, so if you have a furr-friend, there is no need to leave him/her at home!

Spend your afternoon at Baldwin Park

A perfect way to relax and enjoy your afternoon is by going for a walk around Baldwin Park. You can walk, run, or rent a bike and roam around this beautiful community. There are restaurants, cute shops, and a dog park, so there is a bit for everyone.

Walk around Park Avenue

Located in Downtown Winter Park. This place has many good restaurants, cafes, shops, boutiques and museums to spend a perfect day with the family. This is a dog-friendly destination for pets all sizes, with a water station for your furr-friend in every corner. I usually recommend going on weekdays since it can get pretty busy on the weekends.

Rent a kayak at Wekiva Island

Located in the Headwaters of Wekiva River. This is a great place to relax and spend your weekend, swim in the springs, and rent a canoe, kayak or paddleboard to paddle along the river and make as many stops as you like. At the Island, there is a beach volleyball court for you to play with your friends, drink and eat. This is the best place to sit back, relax, and enjoy life.

Lunch at Shake Shack, Downtown Winter Park

This place is personally one of my favorites. The food is already amazing, but this place’s location in particular makes it one of the best places to have lunch in Orlando, FL. It has an outdoor patio space, with a stunning hidden view of the Lake Killarney, where you can see an amazing sunset view over the lake while you enjoy your delicious shack-burger. It also has a ping-pong table where you can play with your friends. And don't forget this place also has a Doggy-Menu, because the best places are always dog friendly! This place is a must-go if you are located in the Central Florida area.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
