8 Fun Fall Treat Yourself Tidbits

Many people disregard the fun seasonal things that are offered in the fall. With there being so much stress on getting work and school done before the Winter break, self care is often overlooked. Here is a list of things that you may want to try doing this fall to help you overcome that stressful nature and practice experiencing new things.

1. Carve a Pumpkin.

This is good for the soul. Whether you are aggressively carving out the pumpkin, or making intricate designs, this is a great way to let your creative side out of its box. Not only that, you can save the seeds from the goop inside the pumpkin and learn how to roast pumpkin seeds, a healthy snack to share with the people you care about.

2. Decorate!

You can go for a simple and sophisticated fall look to outlive Halloween and last until November, or you can turn your place into a haunted house. Regardless, this is a way to express yourself and the attitude you want to have in your home about the fall season. I personally plan to set out harvest items like squash and pumpkins, a scarecrow, and fake cobwebs. I have already set a bucket of candies outside my door for when my hallmates pass by to help satisfy their sweet-tooth. In doing so, I have tried to be a good neighbor and found a way to make something small go beyond making just myself happy.

3. Make a costume design...

Go big or go home on your costume this year. The best ay to do that is to design it yourself. Sometimes retail therapy is best expressed when trying to piece together eclectic things from thrift stores and the clearance isle to make your own unique outfit. This allows me to express who I am while also getting to be someone else for a night!

4. Make some Wassel

Don't worry if you have never heard of it before. Wassel is a spiced fall drink that is a combination of cinnamon and various juices and other spices and extracts that are infused while the liquid portion is hot. This drink makes the soul happy, and there are plenty of recipes out there to try and make this from. That being said, sometimes it is nice to curl up in a blanket with a hot (decaffeinated) beverage and just let yourself rest.

5. Visit a pumpkin patch.

No, this is not just for little kids. There are great adult things about going to the pumpkin patch too. This could be the perfect opportunity for you and your new boo to go explore somewhere and something that is not around all year long. Additionally, pumpkin patches sell an assortment of snacks and home goods that you may not be able to purchase at jsut any old grocery store. Finally, this is a great opportunity to take a photoshoot wearing your choice of fall attire. The pumpkin patch may just surprise you.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
