Fun Things To Do Over Winter Break In New Jersey

Living in New Jersey is great; we have the best pizza, bagels, and beaches, but when you're looking for something to do, go to New Jersey if you want to have a great time! Our state has so much to offer and we have fun places to go explore when college students are on break from school. So if you live in New Jersey or you're thinking about visiting you should definitely check out these fun places and things to do over your winter break!

Princeton:

Going to Princeton during the winter time is a beautiful experience; the tree is lit and streets are flourished with youth. This is the place to go when you want to walk around with your girlfriend or boyfriend or maybe you want to get a group of your girlfriends to go out to dinner. Princeton has a ton of cute and fashionable shops like; Kate Spade, Sperry, Urban Outfitters and Alex and Ani.

All these stores are amazing to shop at, and they even make you feel classy and sophisticated. Princeton is also filled with amazing and affordable places to eat like; Panera Bread, Whitherspoon Grill, 25 Burgers, Qdoba Mexican grill and PJ's Pancake House, which is my all time favorite. These places are delicious and I would give them a 10 out of 10! Also, Princeton is full of cute coffee shops, since it's a college town they have over 10 different shops and all of them are unique in their own way! So make Princeton one of your fun trips this winter break.

Peddlers Village:

Peddlers Village is a fun place in Bucks County Pennsylvania, which is close if you live in central Jersey. During the winter time, they set up their Winter Wonderland, which is the cutest thing! They have small boutiques filled with interesting gift items and unique objects of all sorts. Not to mention they have a huge Yankee Candle store, which is heaven on Earth if you're a candle fanatic like me. They also have their trees lit up around the village and their outside decorations are up to par.

It feels like you're walking in a winter wonderland, hence the name. Bucks County isn't too far from us and right around the corner they have an outlet mall which is great if you're in the mood to shop! This place is fun to go to with your family or a group of friends! Lastly, I can't forget about the amazing candy store they have with all homemade candies and chocolates, so definitely check that out if you go there.

Seeing a Christmas Show:

During the holiday season, I feel like it's truly necessarily to see a Christmas show of some sort, whether it's the "Nutcracker," "A Christmas Carol" or seeing the Rockettes in NYC. McCarter Theater in Princeton NJ and Kelsey Theater in Mercer County NJ both have shows related to the holiday season this year! "The Nutcracker" is a classic ballet with a great story line, it's perfect for all ages and it's a must see during the Christmas season.

If you see a "Christmas Carol," then you're bound to be in the holiday spirit in no time! As for going into New York City to see the Rockettes with their Christmas spectacular, that's just an amazing show to see! It's a show with high energy and everyone will love! Hurry and get your tickets now, though, these shows don't last forever you know!

Taking a Trip to NYC to See the Tree:

Going to New York City to see the enormous Christmas tree is an all time must during the holiday season! The tree is beautifully lit up, which means optimal picture taking time with your girlfriends. Let's be real, this holiday season you'll probably end up going to New York City with your closest girlfriends to take the most "basic white girl" pictures in front of the tree. You can also do other fun activities in the City with your girls like, going to a fancy restaurant, a cool bar and, of course shop! Get ready to hang with your besties this winter break and have fun in the Big Apple!

Seeing Santa at the Mall:

Going to the mall during the holiday season is pure craziness, but seeing Santa at the mall can always be a fun excursion! Get a group of friends or even go with your family to take a silly picture with Santa himself, it is the perfect holiday idea and you can keep the photo as a keepsake! So get a group of friends to go to your local mall and take that ridiculous picture with Santa, it's inexpensive and something easy to do. Hey, Santa only comes once a year so you might as well enjoy it while he's in town!

Ice Skating:

Going ice skating is a must during the winter time, so here's your perfect chance to go to an indoor ice skating rink or one that's outside! Ice skating is fun especially if you have a big group of people going. Rockefeller Center's Ice Rink is the coolest thing you can got too, but there's also always a huge wait. If that's too extreme for you find your local ice skating rink and shred up the ice! Ice skating is a lot of fun and a perfect way to spend a day off from classes.

Visiting Relatives:

Over break it's crucial to see family and friends because it's the holiday season, you're finally free from all of work and it's always nice to see the ones you love. Whether it's a 30-minute ride to your aunt's house or a two hour trip to Pennsylvania, make sure you make time to see your family! You know your relatives are going to have homemade cookies, so it can't be that bad.

I've just given you plenty of ideas to do in New Jersey this winter break! I hope you take some of these ideas into consideration because, believe me, they're a lot of fun and easy to do. Also, take this time to enjoy your break from school, lord only knows us college students work so hard to finally get to this break. I hope you all have a great holiday season and you enjoy your winter break!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
