I usually like to write about things that are real and maybe even difficult to talk about sometimes. This week, however, I decided I didn't want to focus too much on the stressors of our world. Instead, I decided to focus on some fun things to do inside.
I've come to the realization that I am becoming very bored in quarantine, and I don't think I'm the only one. There are only so many K-Dramas I can sit through with my younger brother before I get tired of staring at a television screen.
(However, I would recommend watching "Itaewon Class" on Netflix.)
I have also come to the conclusion that social media does nothing but drive me insane when I'm stuck inside all day.
So, if you're anything like me, keep on reading. Here are four ways to keep yourself occupied during quarantine.
1. Start a dream journal.
Fun fact about me: I lucid dream quite often and, as a result, I remember a lot of my dreams. Due to this, I discovered one of my favorite things to do is to journal my dreams and later try to decipher what they might mean.
However, you don't have to be an expert at lucid dreaming to do this; you can simply start by writing down what you remember from dreams until you start to remember more.
2. Learn a few new recipes.
Since going vegan this past January, one little experiment I like to do is find what vegan ingredients I have in the house and try to find a recipe online with those items. This doesn't always go well, but it has also helped me find some of my best go-to meals.
Over time, I've realized that the recipes I found from many different blogs by mothers tend to be the best.
3. Read the dusty book on your shelf you’ve been ignoring.
This might not be the best option for everyone, but I personally love reading. However, I do have a tendency to put books on my bookshelf and forget about them.
This is the perfect opportunity to catch up on some old reading!
4. Do some crafts.
This isn't the best time to go out and buy new paints and canvases, but you can always find the loose construction paper you've had laying around for years and some colored pencils to keep you (and little ones) occupied for hours.
While not being able to go outside may suck, you can still make the most out of it with the stuff you forgot you had at home and just a little bit of imagination.
