Summer time is my all time favorite time of the year. The reason it is my most favorite time of the year is because there is so much that you can do with your loved ones. I love being able to spend time with the ones I love most both indoors and outdoors. Here are just seven of the many summer dates that you can do with your significant other.

1. Backyard camp out

Sometimes you can have a fun date in the comforts of your own backyard. A simple tent, fire, marshmallows, and the stars make for a very romantic night. Having one on one time with one another and being able to talk and make memories is definitely a date for the books.

2. Fishing Trip

I love going fishing with my boyfriend. I can honestly say that our fishing dates have been some of our funniest dates yet. We get very competitive when it comes to fishing which makes it fun. I think fishing is a good way to bond with your partner.

3. Movie Night

Sometimes those summer nights can be really hot. So why not stay inside where it is cool and watch a movie together? You can pick a movie that you both like and laugh and have fun watching it together. You could also make snack to eat together when you are watching the movie. I love movie dates when I want a relaxing evening together.

4. Yard Sale Dates

I love yard sales! Me and my boyfriend like to go to yard sales and thrift stores together to look at old items and all the cool things. We like to watch "American Pickers" and "Storage Wars" so whenever we have the chance we like to find older items and take a look at them together. It's like a scavenger hunt together.

5. Picnic Dinner

I know one thing I love about summer is being able to be outside. A fun date for the summer is packing a picnic dinner and finding a romantic or memorable spot together and eating. You could even make it fun and pack something new to eat as well.

6. Go for a Hike

During the summer I like to get out all the energy that I have had bottled up during the winter. My boyfriend and I like to go hiking together by the river during the summer. We both have always loved exploring and thing is a fun way to see new places and new things together while also being active.

7. Go to the Fair

Going to the fair as a kid was always one of my favorite things to do. Now as an adult I love going to the fair and making memories with the one I love. Riding rides together and eating ridiculously deep fried foods together is always a good time. I like all the fun activities the fair has to offer for you to do together, Going to the fair is definitely one of my top favorite date ideas for the summer.

During the summer with all the day light and warm, sunny weather there is to offer I love planning and going on fun little dates. I believe that you should utilize all the time you have together and that these are just some of the few dates that you can do this summer!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
