Fun Flavors For Foodie Fiends

I love food. But who doesn’t?! It is an intriguing science and a mind-altering art. Even though I am not the most avid or creative chef, I love to indulge in creative Pinterest recipes that seem to just melt right off the screen. Buzzfeed Food is a section I frequent as much as possible, and Food.com is absolutely inspiring. Not only do all of these sites have the most delectable food, but they also tend to be the fattiest. But everyone has a cheat week, right? That’s my every week. Here I have compiled a mouthwatering, flavorful, and just downright amazing list of the best healthy and unhealthy dishes to start making as soon as you get home! Let me just say, I got pretty hungry creating this list. Whether you are cooking your family a BBQ at home or collecting some delicious and easy recipes for apartment living at school, you will love these fun and entertaining dishes to show off to your friends. Enjoy!

1. Bacon Fried Oozing Mozzarella Sticks

Everybody loves this recipe since it hit the pages of BuzzFeed. This quirky new food twist is simply delectable, but definitely should be eaten at your own risk. So much bacon, so little time.

2. A New Summer Twist to Guacamole

I don’t know about you, but I am obsessed with guac. I love making it, eating it, covering my entire body in it and rolling around in heaven. You know, the usual. So when I came across this great recipe for a cooler summer version, I was ecstatic. For all those avid avocado eaters out there! ;) You're welcome ...

3. Sunny Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes

Breakfast lovers crowd around. These might be my favorite pancakes in the whole wide world. I made these the other day, and you don’t even need syrup, they’re just that good. Tell me you don't want to eat these up right now! Maybe I'll start waking up earlier to actually eat breakfast!

4. Baked Garlic Parmesan Wedges

Potato wedges are a staple at every holiday dinner across America; why not eat them all the time? These are healthier, since they are baked, and you can use olive oil to enhance their “healthiness.” Just stare at these fingers made from a god!!!

6. Enchanting Strawberry Cheesecake Bites (under 100 cals!!!)

Healthy strawberry cheesecake? I don’t believe it! These are under 100 cals and you can eat a handful without regretting it later. Great for serving at parties as well. Definitely going to make these later this week.

7. Parmesan Encrusted and Baked Chicken Nuggets

I am truly sorry for all of the Parmesan recipes. It’s just too good to pass up. These parmesan baked chicken nuggets are easy and absolutely delectable. You won’t want to share these with anyone.

9. Stuffed Pretzel Bread Cones

I love pretzels. Especially, warm, salty, toasty-goodness pretzels. These you can make into tiny pizza cones, cheesy pretzel twists, or just about anything. You can even make these breakfast pretzels and put ham and egg inside!

10. Colorful Chicken Enchilada Zucchini Boats

This one has got to be my favorite. Not only is it healthy and incorporates zucchini, one of the best veggies out there, in my opinion, but also enchiladas which are one of my number one dishes.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
