These glaciers came from Canada and moved south until they dug through the earth and melted.
4. The Lakes range from forty miles long, to just three
Cayuga lake is the longest, at forty miles.
5. The largest lake is Seneca Lake
This is also along the path to get to the Watkins Glen International Race Track, so this lake booms with tourism.
6. The smallest of the Finger Lakes is Canadice Lake, at only three miles long.
It has hardly been touched, due to the fact that it is the water supply for the city of Rochester.
7. Keuka Lake is believed to be the only “Y” shaped lake in the United States, and only a few others exist in the world.
