Fifty is a pretty powerful number, so big things were expected of the Bronco- Panthers match-up. Big things like miraculous one-handed catches and defensive stops at the one yard line. Not seven collective fumbles and 30 collective incomplete passes. The stats are shocking if you didn’t watch the game, but if you did, you might not want to look again. Whether you were cheering for Denver or Carolina, I hope at some point you jumped up to yell at the TV in outrage.
In case you forgot or missed it, here's a colorful, moving summary of Super Hot Mess 50.
It was rough. The Panthers "kept pounding" but quarterback Cam may have met his match with the Broncos defense and DeMarcus Ware's want for the win. Of course Peyton is a little worse for wear now, but I don't think he's done with his NFL career quite yet. For this game, only time will heal these wounds.
At least we had this to make the four hour TV event worthwhile.
