For me, the best part of going out is getting ready to go out. One time my freshman year roommate made fun of me for starting to get ready to go to an event three hours before it started. I honestly didn’t need that long, but I like makeup so much I wanted to take my time and have fun with it. When I do my makeup to go out, it usually takes about 45 minutes. That said, this is definitely not something I do every day. Here is my makeup routine for when I want to go all out.
1. Micellar Cleansing Water, $6.99
This face wash is magical for a lazy girl like me. All you have to do is grab a cotton ball, soak it in the water and then wipe your face with it. It’s quick, and it doesn’t leave your skin with an oily or dry texture afterwards.
2. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, $10.25
I use a very small amount of this before I put any makeup on and let it sit for about five minutes so it can do its *magic.* It gives a super even base for my moisturizer.
3. Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation, $40.00
This foundation is magical. It’s thick enough that it covers any imperfections or redness, but it’s also thin enough that your face won’t be sweating all night long. The coolest features are that it’s waterproof and matte.
4. Maybelline Age Rewind, $10.99
I use this for any bags under my eyes or any redness that my foundation may have missed. In a pinch, it’s also good for highlighting.
5. Elf Cosmetics HD Powder, $5.79
After my foundation, I set my face with this product. It’s super lightweight and makes your face really smooth. When I use this, my foundation will stay on all day and night.
6. e.l.f. Endless Eyes Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette in Natural, $7.00
This is a crazy deal for 32 shades. I use a lighter shade for all over my lid, and I use a darker brown for my crease. This palette is cool because you have so many options.
7. NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker in Carbon Black, $8.89
If you’re really bad at eyeliner, like me, this eyeliner is the one for you. It’s really easy to control and goes on super smoothly. You can make your line can be super thin or thick, depending on the pressure you use. Even I can do winged eyeliner with this product.
8. Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil, $24
I never liked doing my eyebrows until I got this. I can make the perfect shape with tGoof Proof because of the shape of the tip. It has a skinny side for the end of your eyebrow to make it super sharp and a thicker side to fill in the front.
9. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream, $6.79
I definitely don’t use this product for what it’s meant for, but I really like using it for outlining my eyebrows. I buy the lightest color and just follow up lining my eyebrows with outlining them with this. The difference in how they look before and after I outline them is amazing.
10 . Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in shade Medium to Tan, $40.00
I love this kit because it has everything I need for contouring and highlighting. It is super easy to use and can be good for natural highlight or all out crazy glam contouring. Also, it works really well for eyeshadow because it is very pigmented.
11. Better than Sex Mascara, $23.00
I used to use really cheap mascara, but I’m really glad I switched over I heard a lot of really good reviews for this on many beauty blogger’s youtube channels. This is the best mascara I have ever purchased. Since it works so well, you don’t need to use a lot of coatings to get the desired effect. It is definitely worth splurging on.
12. Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in True Brown, $30.00
I own six different lip kits because I love this formula so much. It is super smooth and easy to apply. $30 seems like a lot for liquid lipstick, but it does come with lip liner and it will stay on all day long without a problem.
