"Full House" was always a part of my childhood nightly routine. I would do my homework, eat dinner, shower, get my bowl of ice cream, and sit down on the couch and anxiously await that heavenly tune... "Whatever happened to predictability?"
I pride myself on knowing every episode and claiming Danny Tanner as my third parent.
I would get so excited when the show started and would feel as if I was a disgrace if I missed an episode. Even if I had already seen the episode 101 times, I would watch it again... and again...and again. I was the adopted Tanner girl, they just didn't know it.
I would laugh with the characters, cry with the characters (how could you not when Papouli died?!), try to be more like the characters, but most importantly I would learn life lessons with them.
Each time the sentimental music was cued at the end, there was a life lesson to be learned, and I took them each to heart. Whether that be to not drive cars into the kitchens--
--or to not try grocery samples in your sister's sweater--
--or that you won't always make the most fashionable decisions--
--or that a clean home is a happy home--
--or to never trust boys--
--or to always have your friend's back--
--or to remember we all make mistakes--
--or to cut it out--
I always knew that when any episode of "Full House" ended, I would emerge as a better, wiser human being. The lessons were always endless and it was thanks to this crazy bunch that I learned what life would entail and how to deal with it.
It has been a long 20 years since the last episode of "Full House" aired. But, in case you were unaware, or if you live under a rock, I'm here to inform you of the revival; "Fuller House" is now on Netflix! The tables have turned a little bit this time. No longer is it the widowed Danny Tanner and his three girls, but the widowed D.J. Tanner and her three boys.
The timing couldn't be better. The wonderful, family-friendly series is now back to inspire and gain a whole new generation of viewers.
I am so jazzed for this series and can't wait for the comeback! It reminds me of the episode where they flash forward and the girls are all grown up, the boys are all old, and Kimmy Gibler is smokin'. Except this time it's actually happening!
I unfortunately am being forced to wait until May to watch the series, thanks to my fellow "Full House" enthusiast studying abroad in Spain with no access to Netflix, but when she returns, I will regress back to my childish ways, put on my pajamas, get my bowl of ice cream and sit on the couch anxiously awaiting that theme song.
