Fuck Fat Shamers

I first want to start off by saying I am a plus sized woman, and therefore my view of this issue may be biased. With that out of the way I need to know why people fat shame. I honestly don’t understand why people hate plus sized men and women. What have we ever done to you? Did a big girl whoop your ass when you were younger? Did a big boy have your girl sprung? Did one of us eat the food you were saving? What have we done to deserve so much hate and disrespect?

That’s what annoys me most. The fact that we have obviously done nothing to deserve the treatment we are given. We don’t deserve dirty stares or whispering. We damn sure don’t deserve the abuse we are put through every day just by living our lives.

I mean we just want to have the same opportunities as anyone else without the bullshit we get put through. We don’t talk nearly as much trash about the people that are so skinny their bones show. We don’t talk about the people that look like they’re on hard drugs. Or the ones looking like the one child that got left behind. Instead of telling us to lose weight you could stand to gain some. We let you live your lives and mind our business because we know what it feels like on the other side.

The worst thing is when you go on social media and see a video that is obviously for plus sized people. A post that was created to uplift them or show solutions to issues they go through.

I never actually realized that fat shaming is as bad as it is until I stumbled on a Facebook video about fighting chub rub. Those with thick thighs know chub rub is real. I clicked on the video and I felt so happy there was someone helping me fight chub rub without judgment. I went to the comments sections to see if there were more tips and tricks.

I was met with so many great tips, uplifting posts, and supporting people. But that was overshadowed by the mean, nasty, and fake caring comments. So many people were coming at the creator of the video about her weight. They really hated her size and that there was a video for chub rub on the internet.

There were also the assholes that pretended like they actually cared about those who weighed more than “healthy.” The backhanded concerns are not going to help anyone. Just because someone weighs more than you does not necessarily mean you are healthier. More goes into determining someone’s health than someone’s weight.

I was absolutely livid! How dare anyone think they are better than someone else based on weight? After the video I realized just how cruel people could be to people heavier than them. I noticed it everywhere. On different social media platforms and even in person. It seemed that as soon as I saw the comments on the video I saw how much people fat shamed. It's horrible.

Can plush pals have nothing to be proud of? Like I understand you might not like the way we look but maybe there are some things we don’t like about you. Maybe we don’t like your size. Maybe we don’t like how the only reason you’re thin is because you snort coke and smoke weed. Maybe we don’t like how you’re more concerned about us than that ring of vomit around your child’s neck. Maybe we don’t like how you have a 96% chance of having chlamydia and gonorrhea at the same damn time. Maybe you need to get your shit together before one of us pull up with that stick and hit yo motherfuckin' door (word to Rich Chigga).

So before you fix your wrinkled ass lips to speak or your grimy, ass fingers to type about a plus sized person, fix yourselves you raggedy ass hoes.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
