Welcome back, Noles! Whether you're new to Tally or a seasoned veteran on campus, there are some thoughts that are common to all of us as we try to force ourselves back into the Fall semester mindset.

1. Why is everybody wearing FSU T-shirts? You're in this class; we know where you go to school.

For real, what is up with this, guys? Is it school spirit? Who's even exciting for the first day of class????

2. And why are so many people wearing college T-Shirts that aren't from here?

You don't go there! You go here! GO NOLES!

3. When is this (inevitable) hurricane going to hit us?

Every. Damn. Year.

4. WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO PARK?

Because if you don't get there at 8, you may as well turn around.

5. Where's the best bathroom on campus?

How do humans manage to make such big messes? (Pro tip: 2nd floor Dodd Hall)

6. Why can't we just win a season opening football game for once?

We did not just spend 3 days tailgating for this, come on, Noles, get it together.

7. I have 15 minutes to get from The Stadium to Williams, and it's 97 degrees and HUMID

I'm pretty sure this counts as cruel and unusual punishment.

8. When will they tear down Salley Hall?

We love her, but that building is a HAZARD.

9. This line is so long, and I just want my iced coffee

Starbucks Stroz is a power move, but you'd better clear your schedule.

10. Will my T.A. be hot?

And how many times can I go to office hours without seeming creepy?

11. Hand-foot-mouth disease. Detonated World War Two bombs. What's next?!

There always seems to be some weird and obscure fall semester emergency (and it usually coincides with the hurricane making landfall.)

12. I love my school.

Despite all of this ridiculousness, Florida State University is a great place to spend our college years.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
