Last week's article was about shoes that you can buy very easily in almost any department store or shoe store. However, now I will discuss the problems with a group of shoes that I have had a personal struggle to get (and have failed). This shoe line is called "Yeezy".
Looks like a very simple shoe right? Should be only 100$ max? Well, that is wrong.
These shoes above retail for $200 plus tax and you are lucky if you are able to get them at that price. These shoes go on sale at a few stores in each area and online on the Addidas website. However, they sell out within seconds as the shoes are released in such small quantities. The demand for the shoe is through the roof and causes the website to crash when so many people try to add the shoes to their cart. When a couple of seconds have gone by you eventually realize that the shoes have sold out and all of them are gone. Your chances are over, you might think. That's wrong again. You can still get a pair but at a different price this time.
An authentic pair of shoes is available for resale. They selling on eBay and start at about $750. Some rare sizes go for about $1500 which is crazy for a shoe that is supposed to cost $200. However, if you want them this bad then it's the price you have to pay.
I think that these shoes are so popular that they should be able to be bought by many people. No one should have to pay $500 or more extra on top of retail for a sneaker. These shoes should have one or two rare versions but overall the line of shoes should be widely available to the public. The release of shoes should involve replenishment and sales in stores nationwide instead of a couple seconds of hope in getting a rare shoe. I will continue to try my luck at getting a pair of Yeezys in the meantime through the conventional way. However, I hope in the future much more pair come out that don't resell for much more than their worth.
