The moment leaving your parents. The farewell to your parents was the easiest and hardest thing to do. You finally get to be free -- no rules, no responsibilities, no constant nagging from them while you are away. However, you are on your own. Mom and Dad won't be there to help you at every call and, let's be honest, they never answer their phones so you don't really even have an option.

The cold roomie. As much as you try to get your brand new roommate to interact with you, they would rather just keep it at a wave. The only time you see them is when they make food or come in from being out. It is really confusing to know if someone just plainly doesn't like you or if they are a hermit.

The excitement for your first party. Getting invited to your first college party, is one of the most exciting and nerve wracking things. You have no idea what to wear because, let's face it, all you wear is t-shirts. You can't wear heels because you are too clumsy to walk in them even when you are sober. It will be the best night even if you aren't happy with your outfit, and you'll always remember that night -- or you might not, depending on how much fun you had.

The oh-so charming older boy. The boy you will probably meet on your first night out, will catch your eye. He is older and the best looking guy you have ever seen. He will be the worst thing for you, but you will be blinded by the idea that he is talking to you. It is a good mistake, because it will lead you to the right person when you figure out that he is not what you thought he was.

The goof that you end up falling for. The boy you over-looked when you were getting that super cute older boy is the right one. He is the sincere one, who was always kind of there, but you did not think much of him. He is going to end up brightening your day and actually make things better for you.

The person who can always cheer you up. Your best friend. They have been there for you through everything. They know everything about you and then, somehow, still like you. Also, they will always cheer you up, no matter how much you try to stay angry. They will annoy you until you laugh. Without a hesitation, you will do the exact same thing.

The best pet. Of course, whenever you come home you have your pet by your feet. The dog will not leave your side because you have been gone for too long. No one can replace the love you have for that animal. You will admit that you miss your dog more than anyone else. Let's be real, they have never let you down and will always be the best thing in your life.

The wise professor. There will be a professor in your college career who will change you. They will either make you want to stay in your major and realize that this is exactly what you want to do with your life, or you will change your major to what ever they are teaching. They will become your mentor, your go-to guy, the one who made you realize who you want to be in your life.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
