From the Girl Who Gives It Her All

It is perfectly fine to completely devote yourself to your passions

I know there are many people out there who can understand where I am coming from. No matter what it is that I am doing, I always put more than I possibly could into it. Whether it be friendships, relationships, school, work, or anything I do really, I always put all that I can into it. It puts yourself up for more pain, but that is not why I do it. Because in the end, it really is more rewarding.

I have always been taught that unless you put yourself completely into something, can you say that you even really tried? I am a very passionate person, and when I am involved with things that I absolutely adore, I can’t help but to go all out. You bet that I am the girl that will come and pick you up at 3 AM because you have no one to talk to, or the girl who will stay up as late as she can to finish homework, and still make time to read. You know why? Because I have never half done anything, and I am very proud of that.

Sometimes it can be very discouraging. Especially when it comes to another person. It can always be easy to assume someone is not completely into something as I am, only because I put my whole heart and soul into it. However, I always have to remind myself that everyone is different. But just know, if you are like I am, it is okay. You aren’t the only one.

It is okay to want to be with someone as much as you can, or work as many hour as you possibly can. It is a very unique personality trait that makes someone special. It is a wonderful trait to have, even if it means getting hurt a couple of times.

No matter how many times you get hurt, don’t let this change you. There are always going to be people who either don’t appreciate this about you, or they will try to take advantage of it. It is up to you to weed the good people out from the bad. Though if you are as trusting as I am, everyone can seem like a kind person. Just take this advice from me, don’t let anyone take your shine away. Being passionate is a good thing to be, because passion is such a wonderful thing to have. If you are passionate about something, it means you truly want whatever it is that you are after.

Always stay on the positive side, because that is all you can do. With all the negativity that can be in this world, it is easy to be influenced by it. So just tell yourself that you are always going to give it your all, even when it feels as if you have nothing left to give.

That is just the type of person I am, and I am perfectly okay with it. I love being able to be completely overwhelmed with something, while not losing sight of myself.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
